Conducting Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal @ l’Astral

It was time for a reunion with the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal at L’Astral to conduct two new creations by Mireille Boily and Jean-Nicolas Trottier: Les chants du Phoenix and Elements: Tales from Within. In addition to being an incredible singer, Mireille composes a rich and subtle music that I appreciate very much. Jean-Nicolas needs no further introduction for fans of jazz orchestra music in Montreal and this piece does not disappoint! This is the first time I have delved into the world of other composers to conduct their works. It’s very inspiring and I hope to do this more in the future.
